Tradition, simplicity and local ingredients

The flavors
of Garda Trentino

Garda’s cuisine tells the story of the encounter between lake and mountains.

Here, the tradition is simple and genuine: focusing everything on the quality of ingredients and the flavors of our land, from freshwater fish to extra virgin olive oil and local wines.

The Green Gold of Garda

We are at the northernmost point in the world where olive trees grow.

Thanks to the microclimate of the lake, an Extra Virgin Olive Oil PDO unique is produced: delicate, light and fruity. It is not just an ingredient, but a true protagonist of the table.

We recommend that you visit one of the olive mills in the area for a tasting-it is the best way to understand the quality and take home an authentic memory.

The fish
from the lake

Different from sea fish, lake fish offers surprising flavors.

In Torbole restaurants, the catch of the day is always present. We recommend trying the whitefish and the trout grilled, or the lake sardines, often used to season bigoli, a typical fresh pasta.

The Carne salata

It is the signature dish of Upper Garda and originates from an ancient recipe for preserving beef, marinated with salt and spices.

Today, it is a lean and flavorful speciality that you can enjoy in two ways: raw, as a very fresh carpaccio, or grilled, accompanied by classic beans.

You can’t leave without trying it!

LOCAL WINES

To enhance these flavors, our area offers excellent wines.

If you choose fish, try the Nosiola, Trentino’s only native white, fresh and fragrant. If you prefer reds, the area produces excellent Merlot and Cabernet.

And to finish, you can’t miss a glass of Vino Santo Trentino, a sweet and precious passito made from dried grapes.
